Ghanaian popular Kumawood actors and actresses including Vivian Jill Lawrence, Maame Serwaa, Aunty Bee, and many others have been reported to have fallen victims to the recent rampant operations of the mobile money fraudsters.

Actor, Big Akwes speaking with some of them who have already fallen victim to the action in a phone interview on Thunder TV’s “Fa Ntakra Nu Wa Sum” program, they narrated their tribulations and how they got victimized.
On Vivian Jill’s account, a male fraudster contacted her for a contract to shoot an advert, and the actress admitted to meet the man in Kumasi to discuss the terms and conditions associated with the contract.
According to the story, the fraudster then decided to make a trip to Kumasi to meet the actress to finalize the deal since he was not in Kumasi.

Later on, Vivian Jill Lawrence received a call from the man who fabricated a story that he had faced some issues with the police on his way and had to ‘settle’ them.
The man after making the sugar-coated story added that he had his chequebook with him but there was no bank in location and asked Vivian to send him GHc 800 which she did.
He later called and asked for additional GHc 1,000 which turned the actress to be a little suspicious of him.
According to Vivian, this time she did not pay heed to the man’s demand because she was not having that particular amount.
She later called a friend only to be told that she had been defrauded by the man and got to know that the same ‘contract man’ had assembled some actors on the same path, gotten them to send him a huge amount of money.

After Vivian’s account, Aunty Bee of “Efia Wura” fame also called on the program and conveyed how she was also duped of GHc 1,200 by a young man who promised her a job.
She further added that her sister had also been tricked before by the same fraudsters.
A report disclosed that Kumawood’s young actress Maame Serwaa had also fallen victim to the plots of these scammers.
However, some actors including Salinko who had been tempted before also revealed that they sensed fraud, therefore, they did not fall completely to the fabricated stories of the person who was requesting for it.

The operations of Mobile Money fraudsters have become rampant in the country and many people including top officials have fallen victim to their schemes.
Well, the telecommunication networks in Ghana and the security services are doing everything in their power to clamp down the evil activities of these brave scammers.
