A 30-year-old pregnant woman, Angela Afriyie Agyemang and her unborn baby have died at the Suntreso Government hospital in Kumasi because the husband couldn’t come up with GHS500 ‘Doctor Motivation Fee’.
According to her husband, Pastor Solomon Lamo Latiff of the House of Faith Ministry in Kumasi who spoke with Moro Awudu on Class91.3FM’s Executive Breakfast, the wife was denied access to the theater on Wednesday, 4 July 2018 because he couldn’t come up with the money immediately.

The husband explained that he had taken his wife to the hospital the previous day when she started experiencing labor pangs after her due date exceeded by a week.
After hours of denying her wife access to the theater after they had been told by one Dr. Sarpong that the wife needed to go under a Caesarean Section (CS), the wife died when he finally came up with the GHC500 doctor motivation fee which was needed before the operation could be started.

Pastor Solomon Lamo Latiff told Moro Awudu that he intends suing the hospital for medical negligence.
According to him, the hospital allowed several other women in labor into the theatre while his wife was kept sitting in a wheelchair for over three hours due to his inability to immediately pay the GHS500 ‘Doctor Motivation Fee.
