A Nigerian man identified as Mr Samuel Chidi has been arrested by the Police in Ebonyi State, Nigeria after he locked his pregnant wife in a room to bleed to death.
Samuel who is a graduate of Law from Ebonyi State University, Abakiliki insisted his wife delivers at home and hired the services of a fake midwife to deliver his wife.

According to sources, the wife of Samuel Chidi who has previously delivered twice through cesarean section bled to death in their room due to complications from the forced delivery.
Also, eyewitnesses giving an account of what really happened disclosed that Samuel insisted his wife delivered at home so he hired a fake midwife who administered wrong injections and dragged the baby out of the woman while her husband pinned down her legs.
This resulted in the woman bleeding profusely and her husband who could have contacted a Nurse living in the same compound failed to do so, locked his wife until she bled to death.
Samuel also failed to inform anyone about the unfortunate incident which happened around 11 pm until later in the afternoon that a Nurse came to check on her that was when they realised she was dead.

The body has since been deposited at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki mortuary and fortunately the baby who survived is currently in intensive care.
Mr Samuel Chidi has however been arrested and charged with deliberate criminal negligence.
