The leader of the incumbent NDC party, President Mahama has finally reacted to the viral “Mahama Wo De Y3n Ka” statement that has become a topic of online discussion.
Speaking at a recent function, the first gentleman of Ghana reacted to the predicaments of Cocoa farmers, stating that things are not done intentionally.
The president noted that, he had seen videos across social media platforms where cocoa farmers were lamenting over the new prices of cocoa, stating “Mahama Wo De Y3n Ka” to buttress his assertion.
According to the president, “The recent issues with cocoa, with the prices plummeting, and you see all the videos of “Mahama Wo De Y?n Ka” of cocoa farmers protesting in the cocoa farms”.
He went on to add that “We must allocate more of our beans, and we are taking the first step to doing that because we are changing the financing modules. Previously, we had the traders and others who bought the cocoa advance the money for us to purchase the cocoa from our farmers. But now we say we are going to raise the money ourselves and buy our own cocoa”.
