Ghanaian actor and known New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporter, Prince David Osei, has stirred a massive controversy after describing former President John Dramani Mahama as a “drunkard” during a heated exchange on Twitter.
The incident followed after a Twitter user with the handle @BillsFiore criticized the actor, questioning his intellectual capacity to contribute meaningfully to national discourse and eventually become a president.
In a sharp response, Prince David Osei accused the tweep of supporting Mahama, using the opportunity to reiterate a long-standing claim often propagated by some NPP supporters about the president elects alleged drinking habits.
Prince David Osei’s remarks align with previous narratives pushed by some NPP figures who have frequently labelled Mahama as a “drunkard.”
These comments have often been dismissed as political propaganda by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
