Rapper vs Rapper: Resounding Feuds in Hip Hop History

Canadian rapper Drake and American rapper Pusha T have been exchanging pretty strong words for years – their feud started in the early 2010s with the latter criticizing Drake of being loyal to Lil Wayne (they don’t really like each other) through the lyrics of a variety of his pieces.

This has sparked a back-and-forth between the two rappers that’s been going on for years, with Drake delivering the latest “punch” in the final days of May. Feuds are a tradition among rappers, and quite often not even professionals like Betway Ghana sports betting portal can decide who wins. And some of them have been going on for way longer than the one between the two artists mentioned above.

Drake Vs. Pusha T

Drake’s feud with Pusha T is not the only one the Canadian rapper and producer has been involved in lately. In the past, he was in a feud with Meek Mill when the latter accused him on Twitter of not writing his own raps. Drake charged back with two freestyles, ‘Charged Up’ and ‘Back To Back’, calling Meek out for not having his own world tour but rather his “girls tour”.

Later, Tyga called Drake “fake” in an interview, to which he responded by calling Tyga out on his childish behavior, rapping “Heard a lil homie talking reckless in Vibe/ Quite a platform you chose, you shoulda kept it inside/ Oh you tried, it’s so childish calling my name on the world stage/ You need to act your age and not your girl’s age”.

In the past, Drake was in a feud with Kendrick Lamar, and Chris Brown, too.

Notorious B.I.G. vs. Tupac

One of the saddest feuds in rap history went down between two famous – and, unfortunately, late – names in hip-hop history, Biggie Smalls (Notorious B.I.G.) and Tupac Amaru Shakur. The two began their careers as friends but things turned bad between them later – at one point, the diss tracks have been flying between the two on a regular basis. Unfortunately, their feud ended in 1996, the year when both of them were murdered. Their cases are unsolved to this day.

Nicki Minaj vs. Lil Kim

Just like Drake, Nicki Minaj was involved in a series of feuds during her career. Her first was with Lil’ Kim when the latter accused her of copying her style on her debut album “Pink Friday” in 2009, followed by a feud between her and Meek Mill and Joe Budden, who called out the male half of hip-hop’s power couple for becoming too soft, telling him to “man up”. Finally, Azealia Banks fired a salvo of shots against the Trinidadian-born rapper, calling her repeated win of the female rap award at the BET a “running joke”. “They should just nominate Nicki five times with five different wigs on and pick the best picture,” she tweeted. It remains to be seen if Nicki will ever shoot back at this one.
