Felicity Ama Agyemang known in the movie industry as Nana Ama McBrown is a Ghanian actress and music writer who grew up kwadaso.

Early Life.

Nana Ama was born on 15th August 1970 in Kumasi to Kwabena Nkrumah and Cecilia Agyenim Boateng but divorced when Nana Ama was very young.

After her father left, her mother could not cater for her and her 6 other siblings which led to them being adopted by Kofi McBrown and her aunt Madam Betty Obiri Yeboah.

Along with her six siblings, they grew up in Kwadaso with her aunt and her adopted father.

Education

Nana Ama McBrown attended St. Peters International Residential school and moved to Minnesota International and later to Central International.

She later continued to L.A.J.S.S but could not complete Junior High School because she wanted to concentrate on her acting career.

Career

The talented actress actually stumbled into acting where she went for an audition by Miracle films and was hired to do costuming.

However, she was able to get the lead role after the director, Samuel Nyamekye realised her potential to act and that she was better suited for the role.

In 2001, her career was launched after playing a role in her first movie That Day which shot her to fame and later landing a spot on the Tv series, Tentacles.

In 2007, she played a role in the movie Asoreba which starred other actors like Agya Koo and Mercy Aseidu and since then Nana Ama turned into a household name.

Since then, she has acted in over 800 movies and still counting.

Awards

The ‘Madam Moke’ actress has acted in many movies and has numerous awards to her credit which includes Best/English Actress, Best Actress in Leading Role, Best Traditional movie and Best Story at the 2011 Kumawood Awards.

She also won the favourite Actress at the 2016 Ghana Movie Awards and Eurostar Best Dressed Female Celebrity on the red carpet at the 2016 Ghana Movie Awards.

Family

Nana Ama got married to her longtime boyfriend Maxwell Mensah in 2016 and are yet to have children.

It was reported that in 2004, Nana Ama dated briefly Ghanaian musician, Okyeame Kwame.

Currently, Nana Ama McBrown is the host of McBrown’s Kitchen, a cooking show that allows celebrities to showcase their cooking skills. She is also one of Ghana’s celebrities who stays out of troubles and controversies.

On July 4th 2018, the beautiful actress was unveiled by Kasapreko Company Limited as the brand ambassador for its Royal Drinks.
