GHPAGE.com has earlier reported about the president’s order to arrest the president of the Ghana Football Association( GFA) president Kwesi Nyantakyi.
The order follows a revelation in the latest investigation piece by ace journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas. The news of the order for his arrest came as a shock to many people as it is widely believed that the former is a close friend of the latter.
Many in the football fraternity have wondered why the man who claimed to be an ally of President Akufo-Addo will be hunted by police.
GHPAGE.com brings you the reasons why the president ordered his arrest with immediate effect.
According to Joy News’ Gary Al-Smith, who claims to have watched the video, Kwesi Nyantakyi is seen in the video claiming that he has the presidency in his pocket.
Another report GHPAGE.com has gathered from Kennedy Agyapong’s reaction to the order of his arrest is that Kwesi Nyantakyi has bragged to some business partners (Which happens to be Anas’) that;
“I know the president, Akufo Addo, all you need to do is to give him $5 million dollars, and Bawumia $3 million dollars and I will only take $2 million”
So in effect;
“The President cannot wait for the Anas’ video to come out for Kwesi Nyantakyi to destroy the integrity of the Presidency…,” Gary said.
Another reason, according to him, is that the President cannot afford to sacrifice the presidency he has spent years fighting for to save Nyantakyi.
“This is a President who has spent his life fighting for the Presidency, his family has done so and he cannot wait for this video to come out and denigrate him…,” he added
He further claimed that the President also undertook the action to ‘take the wind out of the sail of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).’
The Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service is currently in a hunt for Mr. Nyantakyi who, we are told, is out of the country’s jurisdiction.
He is expected to be charged with defrauding by false pretense and locked up once the police pick him up.
