Maame Tiwaa Addo-Daquah, Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has faced severe backlash in recent times over her outfits inability to locate the three Takoradi girls who have been missing since late last year.

The opposition party, NDC and several members of the general public have clamoured for her immediate resignation over their inability to rescue the three girls.

They have tagged her as an incompetent leader of the CID especially after she declared that she knew the whereabouts of the missing girl in April.

She said;

“We know where the girls are,” urging the families to “keep on keeping on,”

It been over 5 months since her declaration yet, the whereabouts of the girls are still unknown.

Finally addressing her critics and members of the public calling for her resignation at a recently held forum, Maame Tiwaa Addo-Danquah declared that it was not her place to resign further adding that her resignation would not  remedy the problem i.e locating the three missing girls.

Reacting to the calls for her resignation, she said;

My position is not a position that I applied for. ….I don’t need to resign. Resigning is like resigning from the Ghana Police service, and the position is not something I applied for. When the time comes for me to be transferred, I will be transferred.

She further added that;

“When you have everybody calling for your resignation, you ask yourself, is that the one that will solve the problem. There’s a problem for us to solve and that is my focus. I want to bring whatever situation that we have at a very conclusive stage not to waste your time thinking you want to resign or not,”

It’s close to a year since the three Takoradi girls namely; Priscilla Blessing Bentum, Ruthlove Quayeson and Priscilla Mantsebeah Koranchie were kidnapped however the search for them have proved futile.

3 bodies were however found in the septic tank of the residence of one of the suspects, however the police have been unable to confirm if the bodies actually belong to the girls.

Members of the public however strongly believe that the corpses belong to the 3 missing girls and are calling on the president to sack Maame Tiwaa Addo-Danquah as they opine that she handled the case very poorly.

The case continues to develop keep visiting our portal as we bring you prompt updates as the story unfolds.
