Ghanaian High-Life musician Rex Omar has hinted of setting a World record that would put his name in the Guinness Book of Records.
The musician stated that he wants to embark on this venture in order to revive the High-life genre which is at the point of extinction and by so doing he plans to release songs every month.

In an interview on Starr FM, he indicated that by doing this, the High-Life genre can be sustained.
I will be releasing different types of Highlife every month. I am trying to redefine High-life. Nobody can deny the fact that High-life emanated from Ghana. All High-life musicians who are giving up should go back to the studios and work.
Highlife started in Ghana but was not played by Ghanaians at the time. It was appreciated by other people in different countries.

Osibisa was not known as a Highlife band even though most of their songs were High-life songs. Building a brand is very difficult. The High-life brand has been with us for ages and it’s important we embrace it.
