Two suspected armed robbers have shot been dead in what the police calls an exchange of gunfire at Haatso a suburb of Accra, regional commander DCOP George Alex Mensah has revealed.
According to DCOP Mensah, the two armed robbers Raymond alias Dragon and Kwame alias Mafia has been on the Police wanted list for some time now. They are suspected to be part of a syndicate that robbed a fuel station at Haatso in Accra

In an interview on Starr FM, DCOP Mensah the two are believed to have also been involved in the attack on the Kwabenya District Police station which led to some 7 inmates being freed and the killing of a police officer, Inspector Emmanuel Ashilevi.
One police officer also sustained gunshot wound in his hand and is currently receiving treatment.

DCOP Mensah also disclosed that one person popularly known as Bebe has also been arrested. According to DCOP Mensah, Bebe is connected with the attack on the Royal Motors at the Industrial area in Accra Tuesday.
Meanwhile, three armed robbers were Thursday evening arrested by residents living around Osu after the armed robbers had snatched a bag belonging to a foreigner which contained an unspecified amount of money.
A taxi driver was alerted by an alarm raised by eyewitnesses while the suspects made their escape on a motorbike.

The driver rammed his vehicle into their motorbike which disoriented the suspects briefly after attempting to drive off to prevent arrest or been lynched. They, however, took to their heels and residents took them on in a hot chase.
One of the suspects who was carrying a cutlass was cut down by the angry residents who arrested him and handed him over to the police.
