Celebrated Ghanaian soul musician, Sherifa Gunu has disclosed that Sarkodie admired her song much that when he composed a song for the two to do a collabo, he had to name it after her.
According to Sherifa, in an exclusive interview with Halifax on Okay FM, narrating how she met and worked with Sarkodie, she was surprised to hear the song been named after name upon hearing it for the first time.
She described that Sarkodie and his management had already recorded the song before they met with her to arrange a collabo.
The globally recognized singer stated that she was at La to play a show when she received a call from Sarkodie’s manager saying they needed to talk.
She mentioned that after they met, the song was played to her and she instantly began singing which forced Sarkodie and his crew to book a studio session immediately to have her verse recorded the next day.
Sherifa said Sarkodie’s 2012 song, ‘Sherifa’ which was titled after her because of the love Sarkodie has for her is still a hit since it was cooked from the studio up to date.
