Some Ghanaians on social media for the past few days have registered their displeasure at the Nigerian community after they failed to show love to the Zylofon media artiste Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Becca and co who performed last Friday at the launch of Zylofon media and Menzgold in Nigeria.
This issue has become a debate on social media as to why Nigerian artists are making it globally leaving our Ghanaian musicians far behind.
In reaction to the above scenario that happened in Nigeria, Ghanaians on social media have started a campaign last Saturday urging Ghanaians to also stop hyping anything Nigerian in Ghana.
According to those with this opinion, Ghanaian DJs and showbiz personalities have been promoting Nigerian works for long so they can’t understand why Nigerians should disrespect our big artiste like that.
Meanwhile, award-winning rapper, Sarkodie who incurred the wrath of social media users after he shared a post which sort to promote a new song by on half of the Nigerian defunct group P-Square, Mr P has disclosed why Ghanaians are not making it internationally.
The CEO of Sarkcess Music took to his twitter page to express his sentiments on the current nature of Ghanaian music after Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Becca and other Ghanaian artists were snubbed by Nigerians during their performance at the Naija Invasion concert in Nigeria prior to the launch of Zylofon Media and Menzgold Nigeria.
According to Sarkodie, Ghanaian artists are always bent on making songs that will that top various charts on the radio in Ghana.
Sarkodie cited that instead of making songs that will top various radio charts, artists should concentrate on producing songs that will last for a long time and cross borders.
In his tweet, he wrote: ” Everyone wants to make the biggest song on the radio so we moving away from just making music“
