West Africa SHS could not make it to the best 20 schools in this year’s SHS ranking and also leaving the winner’s of this years Science and Maths quiz ‘St. Peter’s SHS’ in a seventh position.

In the contest, WASS took the lead in this year’s Science and Maths quiz but was finally overcome by St. Peter’s SHS after they answered two riddles in the final round to lift the coveted trophy.

Senior High School ends on a final exam called the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), formerly called Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) before 2007.

However, SHS ranking is established every year by the Statistics, Research, Information, Management and Public Relations (SRIMPR) division of the Ministry of Education, based on the WASSCE results

Surprisingly, St. James Seminary/Senior High School in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region, has been adjudged the overall best school in the 2018 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

These statistics are quite important to parents as they help inform the choice of school for their children.

WASSCE ranking 2018 is quite elaborate and you will be able to search for the best WASSCE student, the best SHS in Ghana and even know the best schools from different regions.

  • ST. JAMES SEMINARY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL – Average percentage of passes: 98.80%
  • ST. FRANCIS XAVIER JUNIOR SEMINARY – Average percentage of passes: 94.97%
  • OPOKU WARE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL – Average percentage of passes: 88.23%
  • WESLEY GIRLS SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL – verage percentage of passes: 87.60%
  • HOLY CHILD SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL – Average percentage of passes: 87.53%
  • ADISADEL COLLEGE – Average percentage of passes: 86.31%
  • ST. PETER’S SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL – Average percentage of passes: 84.81%
