In recent times, GHOne Tv’s news anchor and Host, Joyce Serwaa Amihere has been the centre of attention for several reasons which has resulted in her being targeted by internet trolls.
It would be recalled that, few months back, the news anchor was crucified over an interview she had with two feuding rappers, Medikal and Strongman.
Several social media users tore her into pieces after she suggested that Strongman apologize to Fella Makafui for throwing shade at her in his diss track. She also insinuated that Strongman was a ‘Kumasi’ rapper.
Many social media users found her comments biased as she did not urge Medikal to equally apologize to Nana Ama Strong as Medikal also spoke uncouthly about her in his diss track.
They also found her reference to Strongman as ‘Kumasi’ artiste as degrogatory as according to them, she sounded condescending and wanted to make Strongman feel inferior to Medikal who is Accra bred. This made onliners and fans refer to her as a biased journalist.
In a recent development, Serwaa Amihere, referred to sports betting as a national crisis. This declaration caused all hell to break loose as social media users tore her into pieces over her comment. They noted that they were more pressing socio-political issues to discuss but she would rather discuss betting amongst youth as a ‘national crisis’. They once again called her a slay queen and a unprofessional journalist once again.
These occurances as well as intances where she shared unverified news which turned out to be fake has led many Ghanaians to doubt her credibility it also made several social media users wonder if she was indeed a journalist.
It is due to this reason that a curious social media users took a bold step to ask the news anchor if she was indeed a journalist after she made a posted about the foiled attemp at presidential coup
The Twitter user asked;
“Are you a journalist?”
