Sharing the word of God made me popular not controversies – Shatta Wale

Self-acclaimed Dancehall King Shatta Wale has shot down talks by some section of the public that he became popular through the lot of controversies he creates in the industry saying he became popular by sharing the word of God.

Shatta Wale in an exclusive interview with Austine Woode on Abusua Entertainment Show in Kumasi stated that talent os from God and that he has succeeded in the industry because he listens to God and shares his word as well.

“People are saying like I’m popular because of controversy that not true. Anytime I talk on radio people crave to listen to me not because I’m going to sing to them but the word of God I share with them”.

He added “It is the kind of motivation I give, the kind of hope I give them. I let people know I have suffered before hence giving them the hope of making it in life. This is what is making me stand well. I don’t believe in controversy”.

Shatta Wale who went on break surfaced again with his hit song “Dancehall King” back in 2013 but failed to win an award at that year’s VGMA which made him attack the winner Kaakie and organisers for the award show Charter House.

Ever since that incident, Shatta Wale has remained consistent in the industry from attacking industry folks and artistes such as Samini, Criss Waddle, Yaa Pono, Stonebwoy and recently Sarkodie and Kwaw Kese.

Shatta Wale is set to release his new album titled “The Reign” at the Fantasy Dome inside Trade Fair on the 13th October 2018.
