The second edition of African Pride Awards also known as People’s Choice Awards which seeks to celebrate and honor Africans who have positively impacted Africans in the diaspora in diverse ways was held at the Royal London Hotel & Suites on the 13th August 2017.
The African Pride Awards had 14 outstanding awards and 3 special recognition awards for this year’s scheme. But the hottest category was the artist of the year category.
Facing a stiff competition from internationally renown African artists in the likes of Wizkid, Davido, Mr. Eazi, Tekno, Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage and Diamond Platnumz, Dancehall King Shatta Wale beat them all to emerge the winner of the prestigious award.
