The manager of Hitz FM and the CEO of Slip Entertainment, Mark Okraku Mantey has boldly stated today, 24th May 2019 on Day Break Hitz on Hitz FM hosted by Andy Dosty that Shatta Wale is only popular and control the street of Ghana because Kwaw Kese went to prison.

According to Mark Okraku Mantey, Kwaw Kese was the known street King and he had massive followers but he lost them all when he was arrested and sent to prison.

The maverick showbiz personality added that Shatta Wale took advantage of the void created by Kwaw Kese’s absence to make himself relevant and dominated the music industry.

In that regard, Okraku Mantey claims others will rise up now that Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are no more part of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards to fill their shoes and dominate the system.

In November 2014, Kwaw Kese was arrested by the Ghana Police Service in Kumasi for smoking cannabis (Weed) in public, which he didn’t deny. He was detained and remanded by the court for weeks.

On 23 April 2015, he was sentenced to one day in jail after being found guilty of smoking cannabis and made to pay gh¢1200 as fine.

Kwaw Kese ever since has been trying to find his feet. It is based on that Mark Okraku Mantey is claiming Shatta Wale shoved him off the seat when he went to jail.
