Ghpage.com has been keenly following the Buduburam Police Killings story for over a month now.
It would be recalled that two uniformed police officers, Sergeant Michael Gyamasie and Lance Corporal Awal Mohammed were brutally shot and killed by armed suspects whilst on duty in Gomoa Buduburam near Kasoa in the Central Region.
In a recent development, Isaac Amissah, Ibrahim Zakaria, Isaac Mensa, Oblitey Commey, Victor Yire and Fatawu Ahmed, six of the seven suspects who were being tried over their suspected involvements in the case have on have been exonerated today in an Accra court.
They have been subsequently discharged due to insufficient evidence to prove their involvement in the plot. On the other hand, Eric Kojo Duah, the prime suspect remains in custody as his trial for conspiracy and murder charges proceeds.
Their exoneration happened today when prosecutor in the case, ASP Sylvester Asare submitted a new charge sheet after he withdrew the initial one.
He disclosed that new investigations being conducted to recent developments, have led them to identify three other suspects namely Mike Anim, Theophilus and Kay. According to him the police are actively working to arrest them.
