Today marks the day whereby Electoral Commission set to compile a new voters’ register for the presidential and parliamentary elections in December 2020.
The President, Nana Akufo-Addo, during his address to the nation yesterday urged Ghanaians who are all eligible voters to go out in their numbers and register for the new voter’s ID card so that they can all participate in the upcoming general elections come December 7, 2020.
Many Ghanaians who adhered to the President’s advice and went to register for the new voter’s ID have uttered displeasure and outrage in the government and the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
According to reports sighted on social media, many Ghanaians who were able to register for the new voter’s ID card today have expressed that the exercise was unnecessary and a waste of time and money following their observation that the new voter ID card is ‘junk’.
Ghanaians, however, upon examining the mediocre quality of the card took to social media to declare and publish their repugnance.
Per others’ observation, there is no distinction between the old voter ID and the new ID.
Also, some have said that the old ID card looks better and is of more good quality than the new card.
Looking at the comments, I can predict that many Ghanaians won’t show on December 7 to vote.

If you can’t reason enough don’t come closer, you wouldn’t like it.”
