Hiplife legend Nana Kwaku Okyere Duah aka Tic, formerly known as Tic-Tac like many other hiplife legends is crying foul over neglect of the feat he achieved during his illustrious career which has spanned over two decades.

According to him, the rate at which legends are forgotten in the music industry in Ghana is very alarming stating that when one finds his/her way to the top of the music ladder, he/she is highly praised raising his/her standard to highest level and then all of a sudden, when there’s nothing much coming from him, you fade away like nothing ever happened.

“In Ghana, here once you make a hit you become a star, then a superstar, a celebrity and then a legend. After that, you drop just like that and then someone takes over,” he said this when he was speaking at a press confab to officially announce his ‘IamTic Concert’ which has been scheduled for December 21 at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.

Tic expressed his displeasure about how some of his colleagues in the music fraternity have not taken up the mantle of portraying pure Ghanaian music.

“Sometimes I feel they forget the landmark achievements that I have achieved for our country. Sometimes I feel not just Ghanaians but the people in the profession themselves. Like us writers who are supposed to tell a story of what Ghanaian music is. I feel has let us down,” he added.

He added that as an artist, with 27 years experience and one who has had a great history in Ghana music.

“At the moment you know I have one of the biggest hit in the country. You can’t go without mentioning the top three or top five songs and not mention my quote. That alone makes me feel very happy and I know that you guys will not forget me this time around,” he said.

Tic rose to stardom in the early ’90s after he released a classic song christened “Philomena”, which took the whole country by storm.
