St. Peter’s Senior High School have emerged winners of this year’s National Science & Maths Quiz with 45 points, beating closest contender West Africa Senior High School with one point to lift the coveted trophy, whiles Adisadel College placed third with 39 in the grand finale at the National Theatre later Thursday.
West Africa SHS led the pack going into the final round but St. Peter’s SHS answered two riddles in the final round for six points to overcome their two-point deficit to the Adenta-based school.
St Peter ’s got a narrow win over West Africa Senior High School by only one point at the end of the 2018 Edition of this year’s National Science & Maths Quiz.

This face-off between St. Peter’s Senior High School, West Africa Senior High School, Adisadel College was the most exciting bit of the quiz this year.
A journey that began a month ago comes to a thrilling end today at the National Theatre in Accra.
Prior to the competition, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo added more motivation for the contestants of the finals of the National Science and Maths Quiz by revealing that he would welcome them at the seat of government.

President Nana Addo took to his Twitter account to announce the juicy offer to the contesting schools who will face off for bragging rights. The post of the president on Twitter read, “The very best of luck to WASS, St. Peters, and ADISCO in today’s #NSMQ final. It has been an enthralling competition, thus far, and I look forward to welcoming the winners to Jubilee House, as I did last year with Prempeh College. #NSMQ2018.” It appears that St. Peter’s students would be making a trip to the Jubilee House soon.
It would be remembered that last year’s winner’s, Prempeh College, was given a presidential treat after they were crowned champions of the 2017 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz.

This year’s finalists, West African Senior High School, Adisadel College, and St. Peter’s Senior High School are challenging for the right to the crowned the champions of science and maths in Ghana. The National Science and Maths Quiz has gained prominence over the years due to the peaked interest it has generated lately. Not too long ago, Dr. Elsie Kaufmann, the quiz mistress had her handbag stolen from the stage during the final contest.
