Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy Burniton are currently nursing one of the longest running beef in the country’s history. You can clearly see it from their shots in songs to comments made on social media, propelled and inflamed by the fans from the various camps.
The quest for supremacy between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy in the Dancehall genre in Ghana keep gaining momentum.
Each and every time we see one taking shots at each other at the least opportunity.Aside the many we’ve had in the past, earlier this year, it started from Stonebwoy’s BET nomination which led Shatta to talk about his BECE results in an attempt to belittle the importance of that nomination in his career.
It didn’t end there, continued even when Stonebwoy lost the award to Wizkid. We are not done yet, they even ‘held each other’s neck’ when Shatta had to go for a tour in Jamaica.
This time it has taken a new twist as the two musicians have taken a swipe at each other in a game of name-calling.
Recently, many wondered who Shatta Wale was referring to as “Sergeant Lee” in his smash hit song, ‘Taking Over’. Although he has not stated who he meant, many suggested he may have been referring to Stonebwoy.
Shatta kept denying he was not referring to Stonebwoy, but it became obvious when he limped on stage when it got to the line to portray he is really referring to Stonebwoy.
However, in a form of retaliation, the recently married Livingstone Etse Satekla, known by his stage name Stonebwoy has said that he would christen fellow Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale. And the name he has given to him is as funny AF.
