Kwame Baffoe aka Abronye DC has sworn to stop massively campaigning for the NPP and Akufo-Addo should he[President Akufo-Addo] pays Menzgold customers.
The Bono Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in an interview on Kumasi based Hello FM made these statements.
He said; “For me, if the NPP decides to pay customers of Menzgold, I will stop campaigning for the party,”
Stating his reasons for his remarks, Abronye DC said any move by the NPP government to pay the aggrieved costumers of the defunct gold dealership company, Menzgold is unlawful.
He thus sent a message to the customers whose funds are locked up to rather vent their anger and frustration on the owners of the company but not the government.
“It is unlawful for any government to pay customers of the gold firm because it is an individual company and therefore the state cannot release funds to rescue it not even on the day of elections”, he added.
Meanwhile, the aggrieved customers of the defunct gold dealership company, Menzgold have sworn to vote against Nana Addo in the upcoming elections if their locked-up funds are not paid.
John Mahama as part of his campaign promises says he will ensure that the right thing is being done in the payment of the funds to the Menzgold clients.
He promises to do anything within his power to get their money for them if voted for into power to lead the affairs of the country.
