Kumawood ‘handsome’ actor, Yaw Adu popularly known as Sumsum Ahuofe disclosed in an interview that he sold ‘wee’ at age 9 to cater for his family.
He made known that his mother’s attempt to cater for the family proved futile so he had to step in since he was the eldest son.

Sumsum also revealed that he had to drop out of school at Primary 5 due to financial worries so he had no choice than to sell ‘wee’.
“I was young and innocent so the police never suspected me of such crime. I acted as a ‘shoe shine boy’ and dropped the item in my customer’s shoes and received payment as if nothing happened”, Sumsum disclosed.
He further revealed that he used the money gained from this illegal act to purchase petty items like polythene bag and limes to sell at the market.

Sumsum also said that being in the movie industry has helped him in several ways as he has now gained respect from a lot of people.
“I am disregarded because of my physical features but since I became a star, people show me massive respect and I am also able to cater for my large family”, he concluded.
