Some residents and eyewitnesses of the fire outbreak at Kantamanto have spoken for the first time following the incident.
Speaking during an interview, the eye witnesses blamed the fire service for the escalation of the outbreak.
According to them, immediately there was a fire outbreak, they hurriedly called on the Fire Service for their support.
They claim the motive behind the call was to ensure the fire was quenched, however, calling the fire service rather escalated the issue.
According to them, as it is noted, it only takes water to quench a fire outbreak, however, that was not the case with the fire service.
They claim instead of using water, the fire service used petrol, which escalated the fire outbreak, leading to the loss of properties among others.
