Ghanaian actor who doubles as a farmer and politician, John Dumelo has refuted claims that “If you want to get rich quick, venture into politics”.
The actor took to his official social media platforms to share his view on the claim, stating that it is a fallacy implanted in the minds of many.
He believes that, even though people have different reasons why they want to become Members of Parliament, what stands tallest among the numerous reasons is a “get-rich-quick” mentality.
According to John Dumelo, there is no money in being a Member of Parliament, however, one can use the position to leverage for certain things.
“People have different reasons for wanting to go to parliament. But money no dey inside like that. You can however use your position as MP to leverage for certain things”.
