Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II,the queen(Asantehemaa) of Ashanti and the mother of the King of Ashanti died in November 2016 at the age of 111 and will be buried in Breman on this coming Thursday,19th January,2016.

And since monday, Ghanaians and other dignitaries have trooped to the manhyia palace to commemorate the death of the Queen.

The commemoration was marked and it is still attended by several dignitaries from all walks of life and it is characterized by a fine display of Ashanti customs and tradition.

The late Asantehemaa was born four years after the War of the Golden Stool in 1900,so meaning she was born in 1905. And that war was led by the Ejisuhemaa Nana Yaa Asantewaa. She was 111 years old.

The ceremony will continue until Thursday when the late queen will be put to rest.

In fact what really caught the attention of attenders was a little girl who treated spectators to some delightful cultural dance moves.
