Ghanaian Reggae and Dancehall artiste, Emmanuel Andrews Samini popularly known as Samini has declared that he deserves to win the ‘Artiste of the Decade’ award at the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
According to the ‘My Own’ hitmaker, he has been relevant in the music industry for more than a decade and surely deserves that enviable title.
“I have been around for more than a decade and I have been relevant. Ever since I dropped Linda in 2006 till now, I have constantly come out with good songs and I think I deserve to win the Artiste of the Decade.
I am winning all the four nominations because I deserve them all. I have worked hard for all and I am winning all on the night of the awards”
However, some music critics have tipped the Shatta Movement boss to win the ‘Artiste of the Decade’ award.
The former manager of Shatta Wale, Bulldog and Socrate Sarfo believes the ‘Kaikai’ hitmaker is the best person to win the category.
The ‘Artiste of the Decade’ award at the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is keenly contested and most Ghanaians are anxious as to who wins that enviable title.
Artistes such as Joe Mettle, Sarkodie, Samini, Efya, Stonebwoy, Becca, Okyeame Kwame, R2Bees, Nacee and No Tribe are all gunning for that title.
The Artiste of the Decade is honoured every ten years and the 2009 edition was won by Kojo Antwi.
