President Akufo-Addo has formally received Forbes Africa Magazine’s “African of the Year Award.”
The Magazine’s management presented him with the award on Thursday. The President announced the good news on his Twitter page.
Forbes Africa Magazine has named President Akufo-Addo the ‘2021 African of the Year.’
The President stated that this award was won because of the people’s and legislators’ support for his administration.
“This is due to my government, not just myself.” Also, the Ghanaian people who have made these decisions and have been very supportive of the work I do. “I see this award or commendation as one for Ghana, won for my government,” he said.
The magazine explained in its latest edition, which was released on Friday, that “Ghana’s President has repositioned the country in the global marketplace as one reliant on its own resources and strengths.”
Previous recipients of the prestigious award include Rwandan President Paul Kagame (2018), African Development Bank President Akinwumi Adesina (2019), and World Trade Organization Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala (2020).
