Three kids burnt to death in a fire outbreak at Tema

Reports reaching Ghanapage.com indicates that three children have been burnt to death at BBC, a suburb of Tema in a fire outbreak.

The children identified as Bridget Delali Hammond (10 years), Winifred Hammond (9 years) and Parisah Adewumi Hammond (2 years) decided to take a nap in the wooden structure after school when the unfortunate incident happened.

The burnt bodies of the children

According to eyewitnesses, they heard 2-year-old Parisah shouting for help which attracted people to the scene but nothing could be done about the fire.

The fire started at about 3:30 pm and efforts made by the parents and neighbours to rescue the trapped children proved futile.

The Deputy Regional Commander of the Tema Fire Service, DO Timothy Effum disclosed that they received a call about a fire outbreak in the late hours of Thursday and acted swiftly.

“Upon receiving the information, we quickly dispatched a fire engine to the scene to bring the fire under control. Whiles doing what we term as overhaul, we discovered three bodies, all of them girls and children,” he disclosed.

However, the burnt bodies of the three children have been deposited at the Tema General Hospital Morgue.
