Most Ghanaian celebrities have been involved in feuds or controversies one way or another with their colleagues in the industry sometimes over trivial matters and others for supremacy in the industry.

These celebrities especially musicians sometimes use these strategies to promote their upcoming projects.

1. Afia Schwar & Delay

The long-standing ‘beef’ between media personalities Afia Schwarzenegger and Delay started somewhere in 2015.

This started Afia revealed that Delay didn’t treat her well while they were shooting popular tv series titled ‘Afia Schwarzenegger’.

Afia Schwarzenegger in several posts on social media described Delay as an opportunist and other unprintable words but Delay, in turn, just sends a subliminal shot at Afia.

2. Obinim and Opambour

It is believed the two popular men of God have been at loggerheads with each other for some time now.

They two pastors never fail to send subtle jabs at each other at the least provocation through their preaching.

The two Kumasi-based pastors believed they are powerful men of God and are both fighting for supremacy.

3. Charles Taylor & Don Bortey

The two popular Ghanaian footballers played for Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko and they were arguably the best.

It was believed that the two great footballers were not on good terms with each other as to who deserved to be regarded as the best footballer.

4. Sonnie Achiba and Slim Buster

These two veteran musicians and dancers have been on each other’s neck as to who is the best dancer.

Sonnie Achiba and Slim buster are both known for their amazing music and extraordinary dancing skills.

They were both known for their breathtaking stage performances that blew the minds of their fans and also got them arguing as to which one was better.

5. Chicago and Ex-Doe

The two musicians are arguably the best rappers and they were the first celebrities to engage in a musical war.

They collaborated on a hit song dubbed “Daavi Mede Kuku” and both claimed ownership of the song.

This led to Ex-Doe recording a diss song titled “Ma Ba” and Chicago replied with “Wobeko”. These musicians also used the rivalry between them to promote their music career.

Recently, Ex-Doe revealed in an interview that his ‘beef’ with Chicago affected his musical career and would not encourage any artiste to get involved in that.

According to Ex-Doe, he got the fame but was for a short period and also lost lots of corporate shows because he was tagged as a ‘beefing artiste’.

6. Sarkodie and Manifest

The two rap icons are believed to be rivals and are lyrically at each other’s throat. It is not really clear was started this beef but Sarkodie released the track titled ‘Bossy’.

In the song, he bragged about how he was the best rapper in the country and doesn’t need a crown to be a king.

Manifest also replied with the song ‘god MC’. In the song, he sent indirect messages to Sarkodie in this verse “Go to the market, buy yourself some manners. Don’t use my name in vain. That’s just for starters. What’s a king to a god mc”.

Sarkodie also replied with the song ‘Kanta’. They both used this hype to promote their songs.

7. Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale

This musical war between these two top musicians can be regarded as the most publicized beef in the history of Ghana.

The two musicians have been on each other’s throat as to who is the best dancehall artist. They have recorded lots of ‘diss’ songs aimed at each other and has also extended it to their fans (Shatta Movement and Bhim Nation).

However, these musicians have taken their ‘beef’ to the next level at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Stonebwoy was crowned the Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the year for the fifth time and as he as about to deliver his acceptance speech, Shatta Wale stormed the stage with his entourage and that resulted to a free-for-all fight.
