A level 100 student at the University of Winneba in the Central Region committed suicide over the death of his girlfriend.
According to rumours, his girlfriend from Kumasi visited him on campus where she felt ill and died after she was rushed to the Trauma Hospital.

The unidentified Level 100 student was arrested and also wrote examinations under Police escort.
He was later granted bail and arraigned before the court but hanged himself to death out of depression.
Other eyewitnesses also disclosed that the deceased was troubled over his pending court case and wasn’t in his right frame of mind during the examination period.
It is believed that he committed suicide due to his fear of failing three papers.
