“I used to assist internet fraudsters” -Kalybos reveals

Richard Kweku Asante popularly known as Kalybos has revealed in an interview that he used to assist internet fraudsters in their dealings.

He stated that his father was among the few privileged ones to own a computer, which enabled him to learn how to operate it.

Growing up, my age mates were exposed to internet fraud, this internet scam. My dad was enthused with new technology. So we had a computer at home. I could say my area, we were one of the few guys that had a computer“, he added.

He also revealed that he was approached by fraudsters also known as internet scammers to aid them in their activities which he did.

“Some of them actually walked up to me to tell me, this thing you are doing do you know you can earn more money from it? Gradually I was clinching to this kind of guys”, he noted.

According to the actor, he realised he was being used by these fraudsters for their illegal activities and took a bold decision to disassociate himself from them.

“It was not easy breaking off from the circle of friends I had spent my childhood with”, he revealed.

Kalybos made his acting debut in ‘Boys Kasa’ in 2012. He rose to fame due to his background in the creative arts industry and also being naturally gifted.

In 2008, he joined Shirley Frimpong Manso’s Sparrow Production as an assistant Camera Operator with his role model, Mr John Passah who was then the Director of photography.

In 2014, he received the award for Discovery of the year at the Ghana Movie Awards. Kalybos is known to be a comic actor and is now a household name and has featured in several movies.
