VGMA 2019: Guilty Beatz wins Afro pop song of the year with ‘Akwaaba’

Young Ghanaian record producer, Ronald Banful popularly known as Guilty Beatz has won the Afro Pop song of the year with ‘Akwaaba’ at the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

The song features Pappy Kojo, Mr Eazi and the Swedru-based musician, Patapaa and became a global anthem as it was played in bars and pubs across the continent.

The nominees for the category were Wendy Shay (Uber driver), MzVee (Come & see my mother), Kwesi Arthur ft Kidi (Don’t keep me waiting), Article Wan (That Thing), King Promise ft Wizkid (Tokyo), DJ Smith ft Kwesi Arthur (Yenkor) and Shatta Wale ft Militants (Thunder fire).
