Gospel musician and the 2017 VGMA artiste of the year Minister Joe Mettle has sent some words of caution to the organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Charter House.

Airing his view for the first time since Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy ban was announced, the gospel musician revealed that this year’s event is likely to lose some credibility if Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are not called back into the award scheme.

According to him, the two biggest dancehall acts in the country have worked hard in the year under review and banning them because of what happened last year would be unjust.

He made these remarks in an interview with New Day host Johnnie Hughes were he added that he believes the ban placed on the two of them last year after the awards night has served its purpose because the two have ironed their differences.

” I think both artistes have been able to come together to fix their differences and I’m sure whatever was between them is fine now. I think when they were banned, the organizers weren’t sure the artistes could fix this and I think the ban helped in pushing them into the direction they’ve been able to get to.”

“So personally, I don’t think even if the ban if lifted it’ll be a bad decision. Because they’ve work in the year under review, both artistes have worked really hard so excluding them from the scheme will be unfair.” he concluded.
