Renowned Ghanaian blogger and vlogger, Rashad, has provided a detailed account of the ongoing struggles of legendary musician Okomfour Kwadee by shedding light on the challenges that have kept him away from the music industry.
During the latest episode of the Rash Hour Show, Rashad delved into Kwadee’s battle with addiction and his road to recovery under the care of Maa Lydia, a professional rehabilitation expert.
He revealed that in 2018, Kwadee regained sobriety and was even volunteering as an ambassador for drug abuse awareness in secondary schools.
However, Rashad disclosed that Kwadee suffered a major relapse after moving to Accra to stay with Ogun Skele, a period that marked the start of his latest downward spiral.
Since then, the rapper has reportedly struggled to maintain his sobriety.
According to Rashad, Kwadee’s family played a role in his musical hiatus, fearing that his return to the stage or studio could trigger further drug use.
He noted that this concern has been a significant factor in the artist’s long absence from the music scene.
Kwadee, known for his unique storytelling and deep lyrical prowess, was once one of Ghana’s most celebrated musicians, with hits such as Ofie Nipa and Ka Wonan To So.
However, his career has been overshadowed by years of addiction and multiple attempts at rehabilitation.
