Some supporters of the NPP in Kumasi have strongly opposed the idea of former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia running again for the presidency in the 2028 elections.
According to them, Dr Bawumia is not a good choice for the 2028 election, especially when comparing the margin by which he lost in the 2024 election to the margins of the defeat of former Presidents Kufuor, the late President Mills, and even the current President in previous elections.
They further stated that the election results from his home region indicate that his tribesmen do not support him and do not want him as president.
They then called on him to step aside and announce that he would not run for president again.
