In Ghana, Fridays are special days dedicated to putting on traditional attires locally known as Friday Wear.

But Ghanaian actor turned politician, John Dumelo, has urged people to buy more ‘made in Ghana’ clothes and called for locally made designs to be worn often at workplaces rather than wait until Friday before wearing it.

John Dumelo reiterated the voices of many when he called for ‘made in Ghana’ clothes to be worn twice in a week.

The actor noted that people should heed to his call because this ”will instantly boost local production and position Ghana as a fashion and textile hub in the sub-region.”

In a post on Twitter, the NDC parliamentary candidate called for Monday to be added to Friday as a day for wearing locally made outfits.

He posted; ”To be honest, the Friday wear is not enough. We should add Monday to it. So twice a week we all should wear made in Ghana clothes,This will instantly boost local production(create jobs) and position Ghana as a fashion and textile hub in the sub region. #idey4u ”
