Nigeria – Drama ensued between in-laws as the bride’s family from Mbaise demanded ?1 million, which is equivalent to a little over GHS 10k as a top-up bride price.
A video from the incident shows the prepared foods and chilled drinks, which were ready to be served to the guests of the ceremony.
Both families were gathered as the groom stood tall in his finely tailored senator wear, with his heart filled with excitement.
His bride-to-be, sat beside him, glowing in her richly George wrapper.
A few village elders were there in their red caps and flowing Isiagu, nodded approvingly as the ceremony began.
But just as the kola nut was about to be broken, one of the elders from the bride’s side, cleared his throat.
And begin to list what they suppose in law is to bring before the traditional marriage could be held.
It turned out that everything he listed was above N 1,000,000 and some of the youths from the groom’s side start shouting that they “We Are Not Marrying Again!” in their native language (Igbo)
