Ghanaian actress and producer Yvonne Nelson has joined the long list of celebrities calling on the government to legalize marijuana.
Yvonne Nelson in an interview stated that marijuana has several health benefits that should be taken advantage of.
The award-winning actress further disclosed that upon thorough investigation she realized that marijuana helps treat glaucoma.
Yvonne Nelson also added that her only problem is how it will be abused when legalized and also called on the authorities to put measures in place to curb such situations.
“I have a glaucoma foundation and while reading and researching, I realized that marijuana actually helps with glaucoma, it’s really a natural remedy that helps bring the pressures down. I believe in other places in the world they control the dosage and all of that.
So, for health reasons, if we can control it then yeah, they can legalize it, but I think people just abuse it and that’s where I have a problem with it. But it helps with a lot of diseases and illnesses“, Yvonne Nelson stated.
The actress started her Glaucoma Foundation after one of her family members was diagnosed with glaucoma and later passed away.
Well, several celebrities and notable personalities such as John Dumelo, Samini, Blakk Rasta, Kofi Annan among others have also called for the legalization of the substance.
