Why Abronye DC was beaten – Brong Ahafo Regional Minister reveals the inside story

One of the most trending political stories in Ghana is the attack on Abronye DC, Brong Ahafo Regional NPP organizer leading to his arm being broken and also a dislocation of his shoulder.

Abronye DC who spoke with journalists from the Duayaw-Nkwanta Hospital accused the Regional Minister, Hon. Asoma Cheremeh of masterminding the attack on him. He further alleged that the boys who attacked him were instructed by the Minister to kill him.

He even revealed he had previously been warned not to set foot in Atebubu in the Brong Ahafo Region if he values his life. According to Abronye, these were all because he is calling for the dismissal of the Regional Minister because he is corrupt.

Well, the Regional through his spokesperson has cleared the air on why Abronye DC was attacked. He denied any involvement in the attack but revealed that Abronye DC was attacked because he accused the Brong Ahafo Regional Chief Imam and the former regional minister, Eric Opoku of purchasing and drinking to the tune of GHc50,000

Maxwell Mahama, the spokesperson speaking with Kasapa FM in Accra further revealed that the Regional Chief Imam’s office held a press conference to address Abronye DC’s allegation and demanded that he apologize for the accusations he made but he refused and that infuriated the Muslim Youth in the Region leading to the attack on him.

The Spokesperson further added that, the Regional Minister, Asoma Cheremeh is not only a law-abiding citizen who frowns on violence, he is also professional lawyer who knows the implications of such actions and as such will never mobilize men to go after another person.
