Nigerian pop star, Ayo Balogun (popularly known as Wizkid), wins Best International Act, Africa at 2017 BET Awards, making it his 2nd time.
Wizkid was a joint winner with Ghana’s Sarkodie in a keenly contested category which featured nominations from fellow Nigerian, Ice Prince; Camp Mulla (Kenya); Lira (South Africa); and Mokobe (Mali) in 2012.
The BET awards established in 2001, celebrate the achievement of African-Americans in music, acting, sports and other fields of entertainment.
Wizkid won this award over StoneBwoy(who was hoping for a second)and the other nominees in the Africa category like Tekno, Mr. Eazi, Davido, AKA, Nasty C, Babes Wodumo.
The main event will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, United States of America, and will be hosted by comedian Leslie Jones.
Some of the performers are Bruno Mars, Mary J. Blige, Gucci Mane, Chris Brown, Big Sean, Trey Songz, DJ Khaled, Future, and Maxwell.
