Solomon Adu Antwi known by his stage name Yaa Pono won three awards at the just ended Ghana music awards in the UK and he sealed his amazing night with some sterling performances.
Pono won rapper of the year, hiplife Artiste of the year and Collaboration of the year with track “Obiaa wo Me master” which he featured his cousin Stonebwoy.

However, PONO which he said means Prince Of No Origin was introduced on stage with his hit diss track to Shatta Wale, Gbee Naabu and it brought some serious arousement—amidst cheers and shouting from the audience.
Pono swiftly intervened and told the DJ to change the music which he did and continued to perform hit tracks like ‘amen’, ‘obia wo ne master’ among others.

Yaa Pono’s performance was exciting but was shortlived as he left the stage whiles the audience were over joyous and expected more.

Pono first made his mark in Adom FM’s rap competition kasahere.
He also did a mixtape in 2007 which was received well in Ghana and was a big hit. He worked with other artists like Sarkodie, Guru and Chris Waddle.

He joined the Pidgin records label in 2009 which made him broaden his career and his songs were heard as he teamed up with the best music producers at the time.
