“Y’all bunch of idiots and hypocrites” – Dancehall Artist slams VGMA Board for not nominating him

Since the inception of Ghana Music Awards, there’s no year that controversies wouldn’t surround the award scheme and the board responsible for vetting and be nominating various artists in the year under review.

The 19th edition of the Awards is scheduled to be held on Saturday, April 14 at the Accra International Conference Center with the release of the nominees announced on Saturday 3rd March 2018, the board received its first backlash from another dancehall artist.

Jupitar whose name was not in any of the categories has fumed on Twitter and called the board of VGMA a bunch of idiots and hypocrites for not nominating any of his song in this year’s awards scheme.

In a tweet, he stated:

“VGMA board, Y’all buncha idiots and hypocrites, I f*cking submitted this time and it was a song that actually won big in U.K. (Clowns), Keep it up”

In the year under review, Jupitar won the Best African Act at the 2017 Urban Music Awards beating the likes of Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Tekno and others so his frustration can be understood as he expected the board to take that into consideration.

Jupitar is no the only artist whose music has not been nominated in this year’s edition. EL, M.anifest, Medikal, Edem are the big artists missing out. Check the full list of
