‘Anas destroyed our football, we need Nyantakyi back” – Ghanaians react to Ghana’s AFCON exit

A section of Ghanaians believes the work by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas on Kwesi Nyantakyi dubbed ‘Number 12″ was the beginning of the decline in Ghana’s football fortunes.

According to them, Anas’s expose has done the local football more harm than good considering the recent performances of the Black Stars at the AFCON.

Comparing the tenure of Kwesi Nyantakyi to the current regime, many have intimated that the Black Stars performed well, players were selected on merits and the team won the hearts of Ghanaians.

On that front, many are calling for the head of Anas while they shower Nyantakyi with praises interlaced with fond memories.

‘We want Nyantaki back” – That’s the concerted cry of some Ghanaians following the abysmal performance of the Blacks Stars at the AFCON 2021 in Cameroon where they were booted out of the tournament at the group stages.

Nsawam Michael wrote: Anas exposed the corruption in our football system which gave us a second chance to do better but we dwindled as a country and it’s evident in Blackstars’ performance

Abena Yalley wrote: Was never fully in support of what Anas did to Nyantakyi. I ‘hear’ there’s a course in MBA that talks about the advantages of corruption. Kwasi Nyantakyi was good for the Blackstars, he knew what to do and how to do it . Look at the current management: worse off!

Francis Walkie wrote: Kwesi Nyantakyi would’ve secured Ghana a semi finals qualification for the black stars even before the tournament had started. God will punish Anas where ever he is.

Jrue wrote: Anas dey pri waa because if Kwesi Nyantakyi dey like he buy some cool 6 points for we but we sey the thieves for Ghana all ebe am we want sack.
