Doggy style doesn’t lead to stroke – Physiotherapy Association

The Ghana Physiotherapy Association has released a press statement to counter comments that doggy positions during sex can lead to getting a stroke.

Readers would remember that a few days ago, an expert on GTV made this claim which sent social media into a frenzy with some people sharing their opinions on the topic.

According to the expert, doggy style is not great for the woman health-wise due to the fact that much strain is put on the spine.

He said: “There are certain positions that cause more stress to the spine, like the doggy style” The Doggy style is not right for the lady due to how she positions herself. Blood does not flow to some parts of the body when the man kneels or stands during the doggy style.”

Following this, the Physiotherapy Association in its statement has stated that the claim by the expert is not true because there is no evidence to back the claims.

It stated that physiotherapists around the world rely on evidence-based practice but the comment or statement made by the said expert has no evidence to back it and as such people should disregard the claim.

It continued that people should seek clarification from the association on topics of this nature before coming out publicly to speak and misinform the public.
