Ghanaian man dies after finding out his son is gay in Sweden

A disappointed father has reportedly kicked the bucket after he was hit with the news that his son is a member of the gay community in Sweden.

The unidentified Ghanaian man was bedridden for some days and eventually passed away after he saw pictures and videos of his son promoting the LGBTQ campaign.

According to some family members, it was rumoured that the young man was a member of the gay community but their suspicions were confirmed when his videos and pictures popped up.

The father who was disheartened about his son’s sexual orientation suffered a heart attack and passed away a few days later.

“Our brother’s involvement with the LGBTQI was a shock to us because we were reared in an Islamic home where such behaviour is not tolerated”, a family member disclosed.

Well, in Sweden, same-sex sexual activity was legalized in 1944. It was the first country in the world to allow transgender people to change their legal gender post-sex reassignment surgery.

Sweden also became the seventh country in the world to legalize same-sex marriage countrywide in 2009.

Swedes are of the believe that gay and bisexual people should enjoy the same rights as heterosexual people.

However, in Ghana, the situation is extremely different. LGBTQI persons face legal and societal challenges.

Same-sex sexual acts are illegal in Ghana and mostly suffer physical and violent homophobic attacks.
