Gyakie is the most streamed Ghanaian artiste in Nigerian in 2021 – Apple Music

Apple Music has released its annual Top 100 charts, which include the most streamed songs, albums, and artists in South Africa and Nigeria, with Ghanaian artiste Gyakie making a significant appearance with her 2020 lethal anthem “Forever.”

Because of the remix with Nigerian music sensation Omah Lay, which was released in March 2021, the song ranked first on the Top Shazamed Songs of 2021 in Nigeria.

In Nigeria, it also reached number 12 on Apple Music’s Top Songs of 2021. She is the only Ghanaian artiste who has appeared on both charts. The statistics confirm her meteoric rise since her debut in 2019.

Gyakie released her first single, “Love is Pretty,” in February 2019, followed by “Never Like This.” In August 2020, she released Seed, a five-track EP.

The Seed EP’s “Forever” track received airplay in Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria. It reached the top of music charts such as Billboard’s Top Thriller Global and Shazam’s Top 200. In March 2021, Gyakie collaborated with Nigerian singer Omah Lay on a remix of “Forever.”

Sony Music Entertainment, RCA Records UK, and Sony Music Africa have all signed her to international record deals.
