The founder and leader of the All Peoples Congress (APC), Mr Hassan Ayariga has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of a health facility after contracting the deadly Coronavirus.
According to reports, the 2020 Presidential candidate is battling for his life as he has been placed under life support.
Mr Ayariga is said to have arranged for his own supply of oxygen to keep him alive and stabilized.
A photo that has surfaced online and sighted by GHPage.com shows the APC flagbearer in an oxygen mask lying on his sickbed.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Hassan Ayariga has expressed his regret for not taking the COVID-19 vaccine and has described his current condition as “it’s like someone is suffocating you”.
Ghana became the first country in the world to receive vaccines acquired through the United Nations-backed COVAX initiative on Feb. 24, 2021.
The arrival of 600,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine in the West African country marked the beginning of the largest vaccine procurement and supply operation in history, according to the World Health Organization and UNICEF.
However, Mr Ayariga, at the time, described the vaccine as fake.
“Ghana is the first country to take the vaccine, the president went and they gave him malaria vaccine and you call it corona vaccine, that was not corona vaccine. I’m sure he took malaria vaccine, that’s politics for you,” he claimed.
